About
Hi, I'm Nivin — a software developer based in Mountain View, CA. I write about math, programming, AI, and whatever else catches my interest.
Background
I'm a competitive programmer who enjoys diving deep into algorithms, complexity theory, and mathematical foundations. Outside of code, I'm an anime lover and a perpetual learner.
What I Work On
I spend most of my time building software and exploring topics at the intersection of mathematics and computer science — from number theory to machine learning.
Timeline
- 2010–2014
- Dipped my toes into computer science and got introduced to Competitive Programming.
- 2014–2016
- Started programming in earnest — startup culture, shipping code, teamwork, and earning my first paychecks.
- 2016–2018 · Thermo Fisher Scientific & Boomerang Commerce
- Master's in Computer Science alongside industry work. Started understanding what research really takes and what it means to be a rigorous researcher. Got my first real exposure to ML.
- 2018–2019 · Facebook
- Joined the Integrity team — one of my dream companies. Worked on building AI models to detect harmful content. Became genuinely in awe of Haskell and how it's used in production at scale.
- 2019–2024 · Google
- All things commerce: quality, infrastructure, and serving at scale. Learned what it takes to connect merchant inventory with user intent and location.
- 2024–present · YouTube
- All about audio processing — dubs, AI dubs, and user-generated dubs.
